IEES Webinar Series: Advancing Exposomics in Population Health
Over 130 participants joined leading experts to explore cutting-edge approaches in environmental exposure science and multi-omics integration

The Institute of Environment, Energy and Sustainability (IEES) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) hosted an international webinar titled “Advancing Exposomics in Population Health Research: Recent Insights and Development” on December 18, 2025. It attracted over 130 participants worldwide, reflecting the growing global interest in exposomics and its role in improving population health.
The webinar featured five leading experts who shared insights on the evolving exposome and its integration with multi-omics approaches. Topics included innovative analytical strategies for deciphering the chemical exposome, technology-driven exploration of precision exposome-health axes, and constructing high-quality exposome knowledge graphs for next-generation health risk assessment. These discussions highlighted the transformative potential of exposomics in understanding complex disease etiology.
Moderated by Prof. Ming Kei (Jake) CHUNG of CUHK, the session included presentations by Prof. Benedikt Warth (University of Vienna), Prof. Peng GAO (Harvard University), Prof. Chao JIANG (Zhejiang University), and Prof. Bin WANG (Peking University). The webinar concluded with an interactive panel discussion and Q\&A, fostering dialogue on future research directions and international collaboration in environmental exposure science.
Organized by IEES at CUHK, the webinar was co-hosted by the International Society of Exposure Science – Asia Chapter (ISES-AC), the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences’ Environmental Exposure Science Professional Committee, the International Human Exposome Network (IHEN), the Network for Exposomics in the United States (NEXUS), and the Journal of Environmental Exposure Assessment.
